The weather held for us as we gathered to plant a Flowering Cherry Tree in memory of Richard Knill last Thursday 25th January.

On Thursday Evening (21/12),  at the Station Hotel we drew the winning tickets for the Christmas Draw 2023. The Raffle made £1150 for charity funds.  It was a great night which also concluded our Santa activities for this year.

Santa has been busy this year with many activities, collecting for our

Christmas Collection 2023

 

We organised Reverse Advent boxes for the People Pantry. This year, thanks to all the generous people in Pocklington and Market Weighton, we have filled over 100 boxes.  Many thanks to Lion Bernadette for her brilliant preparation and organising the boxes to be filled and delivered.

Busy at our meeting organising the Christmas events for  2023

Congratulations Lion Bernadette who was voted Lion of the Year  and presented with the David Shehenson  award trophy at our meeting on the 16th October by Lion President Lynda.

 

We had fun and a super quiz night at the football club last Thursday and raised £425 for the Lions. Gerry Wareham’s team won the quiz. Many thanks to our quizmaster John, for setting the quiz and making it fun, thanks to Gebs and Jackie on the bar and a special thanks to Julie and Sue for organising, preparing and serving the food.
